hi Tim,

hopefully we'll get round to Mersea saileast, weve moved to BOC full time now, will you be there?  Crouch saileast is gonna be difficult as one of the crew is getting married that weekend!  What other events have you got planned? Burnham week?  now that we level rate its gonna be interesting when we do meet up.  Piccy looks nice

Hey Oli

No Mersea sadly - doing the North Sea Race. Not Burnham Week either as using up all my holiday on the fastnet campaign I'm doing. Our Upstart season is Haven Series at Harwich, Felixstowe Regatta, Crouch Regatta and probably our club Autumn Series.

detente - you're absolutely right. We only have them to comply with Cat 4 as our mainsail reef isn't deep enough. Could have done with them last year though - delivered from Harwich to Ramsgate (deat beat - nearly 10 hours!) and recorded over 30kts of true wind at times. Despite being fully crewed we were overpowered with #3 and 2 slabs in the main. Had 6 inches of water in the boat when we arrived which meant the outboard was flooded and we had to sail into the marina too. Happy times....

Nerves are setting in as I watch the entry list for the Volvo Dunlaoghrie Regatta.

Half a dozen Corby 25's - all local top Irish boats, Corby 26, two J80's, X102's aaargh.

Should be interesting!  Will try and do our best for  762 honour!

F Word,

Sounds like you should have a great regatta ahead of you.  Good luck and hopefully you'll be able to show a clean pair of heels the Amarda of Corbys that are turning up.

nice sails garth.

did anyone go out this weekend?  we had a cracking sail in burnham, very gusty, very quick 3 sail reaches using the no1 and old smaller kite.  felt quick, has anyone else done this.  it was a short leg and would of been slower to faff around on the foredeck.

Filthy G was out yesterday , 4 hour long leg race , breezy at times , some nice waves . we used 40m kite as we were only 4 and two of them need a lot of practice ( and some more ) , sat on 11 knots for a while , great fun !  were in front of a J29 but he got us on h'cap , line honours tho, as the IMX found some rocks ...

Did a coastal race to Llandudno Saturday.  Not good result!  after 2 hours all classes were together bar big prima and J122.  WInd kicked in and we were away, overhauling our arch rival half tonner as the wind continued to build.  We had no1 up  and it built to nearly 20kts with waves.  The half tonner - also on hanks changed down, we didnt and it went light again.  Half tonner changed back  up and we were a mile or so in front.  The pattern of building and then decreasing wind continued and apparantly the half tonner went naked upfront 3 more times.

We decided to put a reef in and stick with the one.  This worked well (often reported here that the 762 likes the 1 but main is redundant). This allows easy alteration in sail area with out bear heading.   We have reefing hooks upside down to clip pole on so we used the cunningham to bring the luff foot in, seemed to work ok.  Then the wind really came in we peeled to no3, it was force 6 but the boat loved it, with this sail plan she pointed very high and held at 6kts in the waves.  Breeze then slackened right at the end and we didnt change back to no1, this cost us dearly.

Did 9hr 40 mile race, then went round Great Orm into Conwy.  Slept aboard and motored home Sunday.  106 miles in all, thank god for the Tohatsu 6hp saildrive!

Hi Projection owners

My name is Mandy, my friend and I bought the Projection 762 GBR 7622R called "Zulu" from Kevin in September last year.

We are located in Germany. The Lake called Müritz. It is a fantastic boat, We love it.

We made a lot of thinks new this winter and we hope the result is successful. Here are pictures of the new/old ZULU.

We have the first Projection 762 in Germany and we hope that a few more will come in addition.

Our friends looked also for a Projection 762. Do you know of any projection 762's for sale at the

moment?

Regards

Mandy+Heiko
