There is no rule imposed by RORC that states certificate owners have to keep the details of their certificate confidential.

When entering regattas + series of races you have to submit copies to the race organisers.... Wheres the difference?

Freedom of information would I hope benefit all members of the P762 fleet. Obviously there might be some owners reluctant to post their certs for their own personal reasons. Their choice at the end of the day...

Folks

I have got my endorsed rating back.  (sorry, been on hols or would have posted earlier).  Also had to wait for sail measurements to be sent to RORC.

I mentioned weighed in at 1455kg and someone said it would make a big difference.  It really has and rating is 0.954 from 0.968. I will post certificate when I get home. I run a 140% genoa &  40.5m2 kite. Main is fairly small as on pic, little roach.

I urge you all to be properly weighed if you havent been.  My hull is very early and maybe they laid it  thicker and thus heavier boat.  Was weighed on Seahorse scales by their measurer.  If the boats start to reduce by these numbers (mine is 13 years old now - must make a difference) then the fleeet will become much more competetive.  Who knows the value may go up as well??

F Word,

I would say that a well sailed P762 off 966-968 with good sized kite is pretty competitive, but sailing off 954 you could be unstoppable. However, I am surprised that 155kg equals 14 IRC points, as this is about 1 point per 10 kgs.  What else did you change from last year?

You might want to consider increasing your kite from 40sqm to 47sqm as 40sqm is far too small.  You would take a 3-4 point penalty but the downwind advantage would be tremendous.  I think a well sailed P762 with a good sixed kite and off 957/958 would be capable of beating the likes of Corby 25 over a regatta or series.

Good luck and go for a bigger kite.

This is a fine point to get your cert endorsed by RORC/Sea horse. Yes it does cost more that the standard cert but events like cork week etc demand it.

If there are a group of boats (any type) looking to get endorsed this brings costs down as the measurer + load cell and split between each boat. The more the boats the cheaper it gets.

No one can dispute an endorsed cert especially if in your favour such as f word`s @ 0.954!!!

If there is an error it is a direct implication that RORC are not measuring boats correctly. A potential embarrising situatiuon for them.....

we dont need an endorsed cert as none of our races demands it.

Hi Oli

Nope, no changes to sailplan. We had a new kite and main built after we lost the rig but they're the same size as the ones before.

Interesting stuff about weight - I actually put a scan of my cert on here a while back (it's on page 15). Our seahorse weighed weight is 1240kg which seems very low. Even with a 68kg bulb added to the boat we still only come in at 1308kg.

By the sounds of it a vast disparity in the weight of all projections. Early ones seem heavy and later ones lighter??? A trend to buy the latest boat seems ideal.

More boat weights please.....!

not sure if thats true, looking back at the table i put together upstart and filthy gorgeous are sequential hull numbers but have a weight difference of over 100kgs. Of course unknown factors could effect these results, ie what was weighed in both cases - completely stripped or with cushions etc?  more data needed than just the weight is essential to working out how to get the most favourable rating out of a 762
