went for a cobweb blower on sunday.  20-25 knots on the nose up to osea wind over tide so had real nasty short steep chop.  def need new oilys!  was looking forward to a blast on the way back but wegot up to heybridge and it went down to about 5knots.

had to adjust the rig coming back, as when we rigged we set up for light airs.  now on 35 shrouds and 30 lowers. she still seems fairly slack.  will do some more adjusting on the way to burnham.

found pics of last years burnham week heres the link:

Had a great Ramsgate Week - only got back yesterday and did some
pretty good racing. We also had two really good deliveries which always
helps - trip down ended up with a 20 mile dead beat across the thames
estuary in 25-30knots of breeze. Had 2 slabs in (never done that before)
but the boat behaved really well despite being repeatedly under water!

Coming home took half the time going there did as we had a decent
breeze. Another boat got the picture below of us - we were fully laden
with all of our gear for the week, had the delivery sails up and even the
outboard hanging of the back but were still doing just under 12knots.

Hopefully doing a 2 handed passage race in her next week which could
be fun.

How about a Projection 762 Nationals in 2009?

We now have 3 boats in Falmouth and some good resources to make it happen.

im there like swimwear!  but where and when?  during burham week?  ramsgate week?

broke the crane out the top of the mast on saturday!  37knots top gust, 6 up 15.5knts downhill!  great fun, would of gone faster but had to stay high for the mark!  monster gust hit and bang.  held on by main halyard only!  boat is coming out and rig coming down this week.  lots of work to be done!

Sounds like a great idea but I'm not sure how practical it is to tow Hobbes that far... We'd have to start saving for fuel now - can you get a double trailer for them ? Maybe we could bring Pink Gin down too!

We've had some breezy racing too - we came 3rd overall in our class at the Edinburgh Regatta, with winds averaging about 20knots over both days. There are pics on http://www1.clikpic.com/lizpics/gallery_170354.html if anyone's interested.

We dropped out of last weekend's PEYC regatta after the kicker parted company with the boom with a loud bang just before a gybe... There were gusts of up to 40knots from a very shifty Northerly which made it really treacherous. We returned the 3 miles to the marina using only the No3, sometimes hitting 8knots... Apart from the damage to the kicker (and a shredded main) racing was ruined by the club's race committee to banish 'sportsboats' (ie anything less than 30') to their own class. This meant racing only four other boats - a 707, a J80, an SB3 and a Delphia S25 which unsurprisingly didn't work as a class at all. I'm curious to know if anyone else has suffered from similarly mad decisions in order to promote more 'even' racing?
