I wasn't around in the 50s either but I do work in a school now. Some of the GCSE work is so easy these days it is very hard to fail! I would say that some of it is just smoke and mirrors though. A C grade GCSE is most definitely not equivalent to a C grade O-level (I am not old enough to remember O-levels). When I was at school (many many years ago) we had to know things like formulas, now you tend to get given the formula and you are expected to know how to use it (which IMO is much easier than having to remember it and then use the correct one from memory). Just my 2p on the state of todays education. Paul |

The forum helped you considerably. If I remember well, TT, your first posts were full of youthful innocence and trust in the human race. A few lessons from BWD soon saw the end of that.
