Been in the library since 10am and only managed to get half a page of notes done! Oops. My bad.
Has anyone got any ideas what I can do as a distraction?

download tetris onto your phone. or watch neighbours. play on google fight. think of a biscuit that is like the prodigy. (for example, hob nobs are oasis, jaffa cakes are girls aloud and choc digestive is morrisy...im not crazy! the guy im working for started it! )
if you need anymore ideas im an expert time waster, its what i do all day pretty much. saying that tho im pretty busy. better go and finish my work

Neighbours is a great distraction lol!
alternatively think of as many words as you can that rhyme with wool.
if that still doesnt appeal to you, see how many regular sized bananas
you can eat in the space of.............24 hours. I'd buy a stock
of about 200 right now and then start tomorrow morning at
breakfast. It seems the most logical approach to the
challenge.............................................. .............................

I wasn't around in the 50s either but I do work in a school now. Some of the GCSE work is so easy these days it is very hard to fail!
I would say that some of it is just smoke and mirrors though. A C grade GCSE is most definitely not equivalent to a C grade O-level (I am not old enough to remember O-levels). When I was at school (many many years ago) we had to know things like formulas, now you tend to get given the formula and you are expected to know how to use it (which IMO is much easier than having to remember it and then use the correct one from memory).
Just my 2p on the state of todays education.

The forum helped you considerably. If I remember well, TT, your first posts were full of youthful innocence and trust in the human race. A few lessons from BWD soon saw the end of that. Welcome to the real world!! I've been a grumpy old bat for as long as I can remember and now, I am trying to get younger ones to join me! (face it TT, you're a mere slip of a lad compared to my grand old age )

Right then - multiple responses to lots of past points just to confuse everyone...
Of course exams are easier now - passing my GCSE maths this summer would be a doddle (especially now that I have done A level maths and an engineering degree...)
Youthful innocence in this day and age is not replaced by the wisdom gained through years of experience - it is now replaced by youthful cynicism. Like many things these days it can be mistaken for something worthwhile and hard earned.
Stuberry - you need a new park to go to.
Remember most people get where they are in life inspite of the effort they put into revising for exams.
Grumpy women may not be old - they may just have gallic origins (or PMS in the case of Sailorgirl as she once confessed to Brian in the good old days).

Revision
At first I was afraid, I was petrified! Kept thinking I could never pass without revision guides, But then I spent so many nights, getting all the questions wrong, And I grew strong, And I learned how to scrape along, I won't look back, to any place, When I can swallow 15 shots and get completely off my face, I would have spent all day at work, I would have had no spare time free, If I'd thought for just one second my exams would bother me, So all my notes, are on the floor, Don't even matter... that there's no Comedy night anymore... Weren't you the one who tried to get me to revise? You think I'd crumble? You think I'd work towards the skies?
Oh no, not I! I won't revise! Unless I die from alcohol, I know I'll stay alive, Though my money's at an end, I've my overdraft to spend, I won't revise, I won't revise!!
It took all the strength I had, not to act the part, But in the end my real revision didn't even start. I used to sit at home at night, feeling guilty to myself, I used to try, But now hold my head up high, And you see me! Somebody new! I'm not that mixed up weird person who wants a good 2:2 So if you feel like dropping in, chances are that I'll be free, Coz I've done f**k all revision, and I'm failing my degree,
Oh no, not I! I won't revise, I think that I may scrape a third, but I could be telling lies! Let the lecturers all scorn, My bed's far too nice and warm, I won't revise, I won't revise,

It's a video a typical schoolboy will find funny: 2 kids are crossing a stream using fallen tree branches. First (slim) kid gets through no probs. Second (overweight, whinging, crybaby bully-bait) kid hesitates, whimpers... First kid, being a good friend, starts rattling the branches, this way and that way. Second whinging kid get scared (don't forget he's attempting to span a sheer precipice of at least 3ft deep), starts crying, rushes to the other side, loses his footing, slips and falls in the water. Crying sounds intensify while he wades out of the stream.
It makes me feel sorry for the second kid; it makes Stu roar with laughter...
(deep sigh....) Boys, eh...

What's happened to your ordinary high standards of spelling, turnturtle? Is the topic a little too emotionally charged for you today?
Besides, this might be your bitter (but well-observed for some) opinion on women, but you don't really think a man will offer any service for free, do you?
