spi are easy enough to add onto a cat but u may need a reenforced mast!

A reinforced mast??  why??  Hobie 16s added a kite quite successfully without any reinforcement of the mast.  And seeming as the addition of the of increased apparent wind would mean the main would be much closer in and thus acting as a backstay for the mast which would oppose the forward pulling forces of the kite on the mast quite nicely.  Plus the fact that cat masts are hardly flimsy!   Again, reinforcement........why??

well whena person at my club tried to put a spi on c catapult he needed to renforce the mast

Lets not be too harsh on the kid.  The way i see it, he's got PLENTY of scope for learning and thats never a bad thing. 
Its the comment in choosing a boat section where feva-sailor has stated that the RS500 has a more effecient hull shape and is quicker than the 29er that worries me.
