Can't imagine many lie about those things, I mean why bother? OTOH using my real name online is a different matter.....

This would be my assumption too.  I was however pleasantly surprised by the gender demographic.... especially given the tendendency for blokes to be a bit more into kit whorish behaviour when it comes to buying sh*t for their activities.

I’d expect the opposite. Facebook is for oldies, yoof are all on Instagram.

Because intrusive questions designed to target advertising deserve to be treated with contempt.

Don't give your date of birth to anyone who doesn't really need it, it is one of the pieces of information that aid identity theft.

I am a GDPR IT Project Manager. If a company does not have a valid reason for requesting your DoB, then they could be in breach of the regulations. Unfortunately, in this case, it's FB, so age related marketing would potentially apply, so not in breach. However, worth noting if other companies request your DoB

Facebook has an age policy - I think minimum age is 14.

There are likely to be vast swathes of millennials on there who signed up at 11 and made themselves a few years older.

Less likely to happen for Generation Z - or certainly the younger end of it.... they typically think facebook is lame and for Granparents
