Cheers, I'm off to the nearest outdoor shop in a bit, I'll try nikwax on the spinny and lube the shoot - I've got some silicone lube somewhere in the garage for the chute - hopefully I'll get everything slipping nicely

I've tried Nikwax and Holmenkol back to back on two kites I had and found the latter lasted a lot longer. Was converted from there on in!

I got ours Holmenkol'd last year (through Doyle Sails) and it has been worth every penny

But was that the more recent Nikwax TX Version 11.1 "lasts up to 5x longer!"  ?

well, dunked the sail in nikwax and its now dry - feels nice and slippy, also used the contents of the bucket on my cover, judging by the water repellant patio I now have after spilling some , it is quite interesting stuff
