Actually 6 people will be able to help. Try a Grad Nats week of Sly F4-6 at Eastbourne with its steep shingle beach in the early 90s. Surf in max chat and simply be lifted, boat, crew and all onto the trolley. I don't think we lost a day. Shame Sidmouth were no longer as organised when we got there with the 2000s.

Isn't it a bit premature for RS to be making that claim, what's the oldest boat now and how much use and abuse has it been put through? |

The prototype I sailed looked like it had had 5 years normal use in as many months, but I agree that long term durability(5 years of flexing in waves, for instance), as opposed to bash resistance, will take time to find out.

If I'm not mistaken, at least one of the demo boats at Queen Mary SC was vinylester, suggesting that the oldest boats aren't even epoxy ...

Not that I know either way, but what does it matter if some of the protos were cheaper built so long as they aren't put on the secondhand market? |

My point (obscured by inadequate quoting on my end) is that the claim to durability has to be pure marketing. It is understandable if the prototypes are cheaper built. But it does mean that they don't have actual experience in terms of durability of the final version.
