just because i was once interested in buying your old cherub off you, i wasnt ever sure if it was "whamm" that i was looking at back then or not, but now i know that it was. I was the guy from scotland who rang up and was about to take it off your hands but crew negotiations last minute put a stop to it, it was a real nice boat when you had it btw.

Whats the best way to go about finding out how to import a 12 foot skiff from Oz? my m8 and i have decided its how we think we want to go, but are still considering a cherub, if we can find one that is no older than 3 or 4 years and has both a 97 and an 05 rig, both in the best of condition.

Have a look at Brett Van Munchers website, he
builds top 12 footers it will give you an idea of cost and why the UK Cherub only has one rig. go here: http://www.vanmunsterboats.com or C-Tec in NZ: http://www.c-tech.co.nz/class12skiff.htm Or join the 12 footer chatroom here: http://s10.invisionfree.com/12ft_skiffs/index.php Roughly it is about $2500 AUD ( £1250 ) for a 20 foot container but you'll have to figure in import duty. If you club together with others to fill the container it is the best way. Edited by Jack Sparrow |

Loco Perro is 2 years old and has everthing you are looking for, including coming second at this years nationals whilst useing her small kite! Nationals results: 1/1/2/2/3/3/4/7 just not in that order. |

Also bear in mind how to fit the mast into the container! Most 12' masts are too long by a metre or two to fit in a 20ft container even if they are stump mounted... |

the container info is from Brett himself that he recently gave me. But yes unless you have a two part mast system it may be to small. But take the advice of the builder / seller on that. |
