^yeah that. What type of damage would help too... if its a person sized hole then youd probibly need to get the whole panel replaced, if its a tiller extension sized hole then a bit of tape would do the trick.... its basically just really starting to wear away and starting to flake so i was thinking of patching it before it expands

Sounds just like delamination to me? Does the cloth look like its bubbling?
Just means the sail is getting old mate... as far as I know theres nothing that can be done... laminate sails last longer without stretching than dacron but once they start to fail they tend to go downhill very quickly. |

its only really where the sail sometimes hits the shrouds, i have now put duck tape where it is wearing so hopefull it will now be fine

If you've got small wear points then cutting pieces from a sail number gives a much neater job than duct tape.

Josh i can have a look at it, if you are down on sunday as i have some spare mylar repair tape. I dont think duct tape is the best thing. |
