1/2 hr not bad , took me 2hrs and 10 peeps in the end  but was with an unsealed mast and tide ripped us into mouth of marina where mast got stuck in kelp for good measure , that was a laugh !

think it was just after that we decided to concentrate on the 5.9

yon southerners with carbon sealed sticks seem to be able to capsize in a race , right it and continue unaided . and even the newer sealed tin ones .

can seriously affect your sailing prospects though if you tamper with them without caution - or more like precaution !

goes back to the hurricane section comment re weight then ,

you can normally tell if they are leakers when boat is upright water pisses out in gr8 jets which I pressume you didn't see .

otherwise your back to putting on the beef , getting a carbon mast or fitting a righting pole but you might get a ribbin for that , Americans seem to use them a lot , check out http://www.catsailor.com/ chat in their website forum and pop up adverts for righting poles

Its nice and deep at Ness so if you capsize there you could virtually step ashore whilst boat is still uppsy doon !
