Looks like (but clearly isn't) an EPS on foils with a CII rig. Some sort of Bethwaite development?

I guess the (in effect)  biplane centreboards mean you can reduce the draft compared to the usual Moth arrangement, enabling easier launching. They also provide very effective end-plates for the lifting foil, but maybe what you gain in tip losses, you pay for in interference and surface-piercing drag.

Whatever, I wonder how it goes and handles?

So there's a chine that is a fair and continuous curve?  Yup.
This chine is more than 2000mm long?  Yup.
Any chine is at least 450mm from the centreline?  Yup.
No part etc etc blah blah?  Yup.

There is/are more than one chine? Yup - that's OK too.

What's the problem ? ( apart from the horrendous drag in sub-planing conditions )

Yves Parlier cat had a steppy hull, and was very very slow until it got windy- then it was fast.

Could be a challenge sorting this one... The Cherub chine rule says:-

4.1.5 Chine(s) - Chines shall be fair and continuous curves. There will be at least one chine at least 2000mm long. Any chine at some point shall be at least 450mm from the centreline. No part of the outer skin above a chine shall be inside a vertical line passing through the chine.

So is this one chine that isn't fair & continuous, or is it 2 seperate chines???

I'm not sure it is a case of using the rules to block a development. I think it is more a case of designing to fit inside the rules which are already there!

Much more compatible with the original aims of a dinghy class, I'd have thought, than sticking foils on and making a totally different sailing beast out of it, at any rate.

There are more details on the Cherub site and also the Breizhskiff site, and its definately a step.

Some questions regarding the discontinuity in the chine and whether they are within the Cherub rules or not!

I don't think it's a step, but some shadow from the background.
