you can't even see the leach of the jib , main leach is soo open and seemingly block to block ,its no wonder poor crew scrabbling about down to lee , a straight leach is powerfull , that aint ! Jib luff sagging looks pretty grim too.
I expect they have sorted these fundamental probs out by now. but as the photo is so far back no one will know what we're talkin abbout. Edited by catmandoo |

Yes, it was an old Vanguard with the bag in front of the mast - and it was indeed full! Upwind with the crew on the thwart, downwind on the wire! |

I did a similar thing flying a 505 kite from the masthead of a 420. It would plane downwind in next to no wind, but then spend ages getting back upwind again - fun for a bit, but it totally unbalanced the boat's character. I hope those Heron guys aren't being serious - they'll wreck their class. |
