Thought I'd better chime in:
1) The boat is more english that Austin Powers. The pics are taken where she was concieved and designed, and the plugs/moulds wer built, just the far side of the river tamar from plymouth

Doesn't that make it Cornish, not English?!

Nice looking boat - I wish you well with the project, and just wish I had enough get up and go to get my ideas afloat too!

Does look veeeery good!!

Only thing I see that might cause problems (if you can call them that) is snagging / brushing the bottom of the main on your back every time you tack. Its probably strong enough to put up with that, but after a few months it might start cracking / wearing out?

Ok. It's a gorgeous lovely shiny thing. I like the fine bow.
By my reckoning the rig is interesting, but presumably it would be relatively straightforward to modify to suit more 'conventional'  tastes. As to the mainsheet it took me a bit of thinking to work out what goes where, but I do like string...

Thought I'd better chime in:
1) The boat is more english that Austin Powers. The pics are taken where she was concieved and designed, and the plugs/moulds wer built, just the far side of the river tamar from plymouth

2) She does have a kicker, it had come undone in the pic earlier in the thread from launch day. I'm new to splicing.. I'll try to get a better pic of it but in the meantime you'll be able to make it out from the one attached. There is a strop from lugs on each side of the boom which meets just at the foot for a conventional 8:1. The sail is controlled with the kicker, outhaul and downhaul independantly in the manner of any conventional boat. The reason behind the wishbone is that: a) It allows the really low foot for aero efficiency without intimidating people with the low boom. The wishbone is set about 6" up from the foot so the outhaul doesn't affect the leech like it would on a windsurf style sail where the front end is shoulder height up the sail and the outhaul is the only control of both leech and foot tension b) On the to do list is a soft, reefable pico style sail. The gooseneck is a clamp fitting through which the front end of the boom articulates, so the soft sail will have a higher foot, and the boom will be set higher up the mast to be more leisure / beginner friendly.

The sailing anarchy thread where I "outed" her is at: http://forums.sailinganarchy.com/index.php?s=ae29a4cd10b3764 a2411abfa987e5e27&showtopic=81602

and has a fair bit of detail about the design and its philosophy, but I'm happy to hear what anyone thinks of her. Especially if favourable ha ha.

I think its combined with the downhaul yus.

Does look interesting, was reading about it on SA ... Is it a UK boat or an American one? Looks like it could be good fun ...

And I like the idea with the mainsheet! Tidy, Nothing to snag on ... Just a pain to thread it if you forget a stopperknot!

Doesn't have one, a combination of the wishbone boom and the downhaul does the job apparently.
