I have a cunning trick for this one, it's called a brake pedal, which i apply before crossing the path of the GATSO, works almost every time.

So for me flashed twice tickets nil.
Pulled over by police three times, tickets nil again.

Had my license coming up to 6 years now.

Oh and  strawberry, don't get me started on the M4, i was at bristol uni and had to do that bloody motorway too many times. My record was from my parents house in south london to redlands in bristol was 1 hour 47 minutes.

The problem with that is that the cars behind you may not know that you are going to suddenly brake and you could end up causing a huge pile up or having someone plough into the back of you.

Thats the one thing I hate about driving round the M25 near Heathrow you get all the 'rep boys' in their Vectras and Modeos driving like muppets between the gantries and then slamming on their brakes to go past the cameras, often slowing down to 60 in error when the limit is at 70.

Sorry but in certain circumstances the 'spot' cameras are more of a danger than a help. What they need to do is impllement the time and distance cameras.

I don't want to be a killjoy but if you want to drive fast take up motorsport or go to a track day (now I shall get out my zimmer frame and toddle off to get the morning paper).

Yeah i tend to just do a steady 70 on the m25 round heathrow, though it's 70 according to my gps rather than my speedo, as almost all speedo's over read.

I agree with the time and distance camera thing, they're got those over tower bridge now, and i tell you people stick to the 20 mph limit.

Do most of you go 60 when towing or just stay at 70 on motorways?

I have been done a couple of times over the years, but one thing I have learnt is this

You are twice as likely to kill someone at 40 than at 30 (at 40 its a 50/50 chance!)

I am happy to do 80 and upwards on the motorway, and save the real stuff for circuit work.  In a 30 zone its 25 - 30 and sod all that want to flash there lights at me

When you find a big kettle of crazy it's probably best not to stir it - Pointy Haired Boss

I can get from my parent's house in Welwyn, Hertfordshire, to my "ghetto" on Hampton Road in Redland in about 2hrs 15mins.

I agree about the braking before the camera thing, my SatNav is kind enough to tell me exactly where they are. Need to try checking the speed off the gps though, didn't realise my speedo would over-read.

Have you guys seen the "average-speed" cameras through the road-works on the M25 around Rickmansworth?
