i think i'd stick a carbon boom on my 300 with integral partners that meet the boom. But on a whole i'd like someone to invent a miracle drug for boats that stopped rivets corroding!!!

They have, they are called Stainless Steel  - they are also quite a bit more expensive!

not much and a lot better than anything else on the market. you could put some duralac around the rivit as well if you were that worryed about it corroding.

So given the choice of doing anything to your boats it would appear that everyone wants to do something that is either
  • stupid
  • expensive
  • makes it difficult/impossible to sail
  • Tries to turn the boat into something resembling a different boat
  • wrecks the class
Interesting...

Point taken re. Wanderers though

(Friday afternoon clock stopped grumpiness... forgive if you can, or not, no difference)

I stand by my request for a decent 29er kicker, have you seen it? it would:
  • make the boat easier to sail
  • make it cheaper as we wouldn't have to waste money on the tiny £27 breakable nylon fitting.
  • highly sensible (as far as i can see)
  • boat stays pretty much the same and therefore...
  • The class stays the same.
However, the majority of the suggetions do follow the pattern you have outlined but then, does it have to be a sensible suggestion?

Then you would just deplete the 29er class as it is. Dont need a another youth skiff just need more people to start sailing them to build the fleet then for them to buy 49ers so we are all happy and can all sail in in a big 49er fleets all the world.

Sorry got carried away would be nice though
Go Big or Go home or sail a 49er!!!
