Yeah sure... stick the stamp upside down, write the approximate address in an uncertain hand ("postcode? Hmmmphgh... it's somewhere up North, where they talk funny.... I've put Dennis Watson, Scotland - it shud get there!") and go out. Stumble to the nearest postbox, grab hold of it while waiting for the vision to focus again and identify the slit. Fight the impending nausea, search all pockets and realise you've left the letter at home. Slump down against the postbox to appraise the situation................... The postie will wake you in the morning! |
