New Budget.

   Just seen from the DVLA website that my car tax will now be £175, just 

because my car was registered before 2001. Was the same car registered 

after 2001 it would cost £110. How is this fair? Am I causing any more 

pollution than an identical but newer car? I think not, as my car is actually 

more fuel efficient now than when it was new. So how can they justify 

charging people more who can't afford new cars?

	And those crime prevention cameras aren't much use at catching burglars (who hide in shadows, surprise, surprise), but they are very good at spotting people who double park for 30 seconds while taking the shopping out of the car, and then sending them a £100 bill...And we will all be watched via a biometric identity card as soon as we need a new passport, too, your DNA will be on record so it is likely you won't be able to get heath insurance if your genes aren't perfect (of course the government will sell the info - (they sell all the other data they get from us) and you will be hauled in for crimes you have nothing to do with because your DNA will be all over the scene but the actual person who did it wore gloves and a mask, and the police won't bother actually solving crimes by traditional methods any more... I'd stay where you are, Bumble...Tax is now higher here than it has been since the 70's, but it is all done in secret, rather than on income, so you end up paying tax on your tax, even. I'd say kick them out, but the next lot will be just as bad.

	As some of you are aware, I have been out of the country (uk) for a while. On returning (next month) I was a bit gauled to notice that petrol has taken a hike to nearly 1 pound per litre..... it was around 65 only 2 years ago which seems a big increase. Now it would appear that my car tax is double also at a wapping 210 quid. How did this happen? Is anyone out their in posession of a car which isn't so much and can it tow a boat at 60 mph? Is there going to be more fuel protests? How do poorer earners live? Oh, and incidentally - how come British troops are still in Iraq?I thought everyone was against it, including the troops. Everybody else in the world thinks it is just our American friends. Why hasn't the prime minister been shot? Edited by Bumble
