The Voodoo skiff looks like a really nice boat, but looks like she has been heavily influenced by the 49er. Don't really fancy the way the deck curves, could cause a few nasty moments . Is there any info on what sort of sail area she will be carrying or the construction of the rig?

Depends on the class entirely, jibs may limit pointing but they keep the flow over the main - in the 14 in anything above a three or four we are planing upwind thus we bear off by about 3-5degrees this is quicker than someone trying to point - to plane or not to plane
Any one in need of quality carbon fibre work (tillers etc) at decent prices!

The moth rules are 'open', so that if it's not banned, then it's allowed. So you could put a jib on a moth ( as long as total sail area is >8 sq m.

The 'new IC' is intended to increase downwind speed and get therefore apparent wind sailing /big gybing angles- so taking the jib off and bigger main should help.

Most 'pointing' boats point cos that's their fastest vmg upwind, because the hull shape / rig etc etc are such that there is little speed increase for footing off.
eg laser points high, but makes lots of leeway.

A cat, or moth ( esp a foiling moth ) has low pointing angle, but the boat speed is very high - so are much better vmg upwind.

It depends on the boat and the Speeds involved (and the courses to be sailed).

I only have recent Cat experience; but upwind the jib just gets in the way - it's what limits the pointing; Cats with single sails (Shadow; Inter 17; A class; 18HT) all point a little higher than the boats with jibs.  now reaching (espically when not fully powered up the jib helps heaps as it helps to keep the flow attached to the back of the sail.  Same goes for off the wind without a kite.

Again; off the wind with the kite up IMO the jib just gets in the way / disturbs what is going on with the kite putting flow down the back of the mainsail.
