You can spot a Bloodaxe built boat Cherub, for instance, by the way the fabric is all neatly aligned and smooth, the fillets are all eaxctly consistent in size, smooth and even and all the rest of it. A home built boat won't be like that, fillets may be rough, the fabric a bit wavey, all the rest of it, but provided that everything is basically in the right place it will still work. OK it will be heavier, and it will end up using loads more filler in fairing it and getting it smooth, ....

The bloodaxe built P7 cherub 2676 ( current and nat champ x 5 )weighed in as new at 40 kg,( and is still underweight at 48kg after many heavy recent mods )
The two newest professional built cherubs weighed 54 and 57 kg!!! ( ie 4kg and 7 kg overweight when new )

Yes but Loco was buildt like a brick out house and
there's a lot more of it!

And have you seen Primals Pole! there has to be 5kg
extra it that alone it so big!

Plus it was each pro builders first Cherub and one
would assume that they would air on the side of
caution.

Only time will tell if the Beast stands up to the extra
rig, which i am sure it will but I am also sure Loco
and Primal's builders were building with the future in
mind. i.e the new rig boats are going to take a
pounding.

suprized if it's the UK!

Whamm! was EcoCats which was used as a
promotional boat for them ( they make low wake cat
power boats ) And I think it was used as an early test
boat for Twin Wires when it was first looked at 12
years ago or there abouts. In terms of performance
you need to email Lucy the class secy. get her email
from the class web site.

www.sailingsource.com/cherub

She'll be able to find out about it's results. Or I am
sure if you wait a bit someone will let you know on
here.

Of course she is still a great boat to sail as a Classic
but not something to put a new rig on.

I owned her as Ecocats, and she did well at club level as she was my intro into cherubs!!! Very nice stable boat, and good all round wind condition. Espec wen its blowin nuts she jus jumps up and sits on the plane and is very stable.

Singapore, Malaysia and Batam (Indonesia - more affectionately known as Singapore on Sea)
