First single 'brown sugar' first album 'bohemian rhapsody' then it was ELP, Hendrix etc, then found opera, which dominated my life for decades, now I listen to almost anything, but not 'thick grass rock'

I'm a guitar player and got into Django about 15 or so years ago and I try to play his music. I'm not a fan of heavy rock or anything metal but a lot of country flavoured rock, prog, blues, jazz, folk and bluegrass interests me. Pre teens I grew up with The Beatles then got into John Mayall, Cream, Pink Floyd, Hendrix and all that stuff while also playing in folk clubs and listening to John Martyn, Fairport Convention, Tull, The Eagles, Dylan, Richard Thompson and the like. Current fave (mostly obscure and some long gone) bands/players include Bellowhead, String Cheese Incident, Molly Tuttle, The Helecasters and lots of Bluegrass and Gypsy Jazz players. Lots more too but if I don't stop I'll go on all night  Embarrassed.

BTW what do you mean by "thick grass rock"?

Country based Rock, like tull, Charlie Daniels band, Fleetwood mac, wheel bearing music, you could put tull on, pop to the shop for a bag of tangfastics and a banana milkshake, get home, get halfway through hetty wainthrop investigates, and realise its still playing    incidentally is Fleetwood mac and tull the same band?

Sounds like a cross between bangra and irish folk, not bad for when the mood takes you, some of bruce Springsteen stuff is very mellow.
