Can I race without one ?- I can't afford the full £ xK etc for a shiny new 'Dennis & Gnasher' sticker.  Yes - I've just heard the sort of money these elite sailing stickers now cost   (Does look very desirable though and I've heard they can even make you a tad faster - well that's what Fred down the pub told me anyway and he's just bought one )  - so what about a bit of discount on the side ?..  I'll keep quiet about it - so that would be just between you and me if it helps ....

Dont forget to put some shiny badges on your Hybrid  ;-)  It will make it go faster and be more desirable

Oh well if the Ovi 'Laser' is likely to quicker/better who could resist ??   I'll start saving.   Sorry - you say I've got that all wrong and simply don't understand  ?  .. So it is not going to be 'better' ?   But it has a very attractrive new shiny badge on it .... So that's it ?   That I can point out to my friends and  .... er that's it is it ?

Thinking about it I'll stick with the old 'Laser' and when really needs replacing .. I'll look at ILCA pricing then and if they have still not discounted a bucket load  -  I might just get an Aero, it really is 'better' after all and it has some very nice shiny badges as well, I really like badges when I go sailing and now I understand how really important they are and how they should be admired.   ....  Wacko

A worlds with chartered boats, or Olympic run up events will obviously be sailed in new boats, so ILCA through and though. Any event where boats are mixed, so LPE lasers from a time when they had stopped inspections but still had plaques, plus older boats from when they were inspected, plus ILCA boats, may as well just shrug and allow any Laser shaped boat, as there will be a total mix of quality anyway. And does anyone think a new Laser will be quicker than an Ovi ILCA?

Totally agree. ILCA have done the best they can in the face of one of the three original builders not wanting to follow contracts and attempting a power grab on one side and the forces of WS on the other .
