Graeme You are welcome to join us (on the dark side) for the Selden SailJuice Winter Series Prize Giving and review, Sat 10.30 on the classes stage in the Great Hall. This winter we have seen a healthy growth in numbers, with around 600 entries from 91 different classes, and three events selling out. 18 classes achieved 10 or more boats and more people qualified (55 boats) this winter. We also hosted class championships within these big handicap events, with Hadrons H2 Inlands and RS Aero Winters (48 boats), showing the flexibility of the format and people enjoying sailing against mates from other classes. Yep, I'll be there helping to host the 600 stand on Saturday.
We have a brand-new boat all-prepped for this year.

As an aside, having only ever been two or three times in my life, is the Dinghy Show the sort of thing you'd go to each year, or occasionally?
I went last year, is there likely to be much difference year to year or is it a better experience to go every few years to really see big changes in the sport? Edited by Jamie600 - 28 Feb 19 at 4:14pm |

I really enjoy it, a bit of a show victim me, there's always stuff to see, some to marvel at others to chuckle about, sometime old sailing friends and acquaintances to run into and I usually always miss something even though I think I've 'done' the whole room. My ex windsurfing buddy Dee Caldwell is allegedly going to be somewhere with his new boots I shall have to go and check out and maybe take the piss that's he's now selling to us dinghy sailors... I shall have a look at that new trapeze harness which isn't quite as expensive as I thought, especially compared to some harness prices we see in kiting these days. There's a new quick little Streaker that might upset the applecart down the lake next winter I shall have a look at. Then there will inevitably be new foilers , so bound to be something else, so yes, every year I make the trip.. |

I can't wait, it's got a carbon rig of course... I mean it's a lightweights boat, why wouldn't a brand new super quick Streaker in 2019 not have a carbon rig? |

I hope the Streaker doesn’t have a Carbon rig. The PY bandit moaners will have a field day with that. I remember one issue the bandit moaners have is that the old wooden ones artificial push up the PY making the plastic boats bandits. Adding a carbon rig will only worsen this separation. The appeal of the streaker is that it hasn’t gone down the carbon route.
