Olympic funding needs to be run along the lines of political elections with a maximum spend per sport.

It depends on the club - but I'd say worth checking before you sign up! (It didn't work like that at my previous club, but it does at my current one)

Having said that, you sound like exactly the sort of person who would make a good VC with responsibilities for sailing!

Equestrian should be dropped and replaced with Football, after all, if they are looking for maximum participation levels you can't get much higher, bring in one of the sports popular in the States too, Olympics could do with building its profile there, perhaps Baseball ? 

Cricket for the Commonwealth, 20/20 obviously, would certainly bring in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka would pick up some African counties too.

Sports chosen to appeal to every country, maximise inclusion.

however the restricted  nature of the teams and the  unwillingess of the home  nation FAs to find a solution to the fact that  only the English FA is a BOA member  and  the pressure from some other  countries on FIFA to  try and get the home nations  seperate FAs replaced by a UK wide  governing  body ...

Never knew Football was in the Olympics, I am an avid follower, well you have surprised me, presumably the FA issues are Scotland, Wales etc, you would think team GBR would go over home Committees and pick an amateur team.

It may be complicated, but you're mistaken on the Ireland situation. The Football Association of Ireland = Republic of Ireland, The Irish Football Association = Northern Ireland.

I disagree with merging the countries, we are distinct people's at home even if we are all Brit's when abroad,if you take merging to its logical conclusion there should be a European team, African team etc.
