My (biggish) lake based club bans cats for no other reason than the number of hulls.  It seems to me that a 14 or 15ft cat is no longer, wider or quicker than something like an RS800 or Musto.  They are also less likely to run aground or capsize.  Prejudice is alive and well in my experience, but the thought of sharing a course with a kite would scare me!

Which would snag the mast before it got to the helm and cause far more problems to the scary kitesurfer if he/she were stupid enough to come close to sailboats

However if the scary kitesurfer is racing on the same course as the sailboats its going to be rather difficult for him not to come close to sailboats.

Musto is considerably faster than a dart 18 around a course, you'd need an something like a spitfire or f16 or bigger to be appreciably quicker to be honest

Come on, not really simply about speed is it.
My beef with Cats is inexpert boat handlers not being able to turn corners efficiently or cope with the acceleration surge on a bear away when deciding how to deal with crossing boats.

As opposed to inexpert skiff sailors capsizing at every gybe and hoist?  Or old Solo sailors having slow reactions and poor rules obeyance? Or any other prejudicial stereotype?

Are there likely to be any inexpert boat handlers at the SailJuice series?

True of course but at least your opposing examples have low inertia and less potential for high impact damage.

Needless to say my bigotry applies much further abroad than the mostly expert SailJuice participants.
