Just looked it up - interesting - just a little bigger than the boat I was saying was a gap in the market for our Junior Group when they find the Feva too small, but exactly the concept I was thinking of, at least on paper. Will have to pop along and see it.

don't think it will be at the Show will it? As I said, looks alright to me.... I've thought about a Feva in the past to sail with my kids when they grow up a bit, but the cramped space at the back would probably put me off pulling the trigger if the 'need' ever materialised.
No doubt I'd struggle pulling a L2K up the slope on my own, slip a disc and f**k my entire sailing future up instead.... all to follow a selfish pursuit of sailing with one's offspring.....

"The RS Sales Team will be on hand at the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show this weekend to answer any questions surrounding the RS Quest."
Said that on Sailweb, but you are right, it doesn't actually say the boat will be there. |

I'm surmising that as this has gone out as renders, not prototype photos there's not much physical available for public consumption. Besides, I'd imagine they'll be busy fulfilling the first batches with Scout orders, not punters.... could be a good bargain in 3 years though when the Scouts upgrade.
There's murmurings of something else coming out in this space too.... You need to check out that group on FB I invited you to ;-)

volume change shouldn't matter as they're in effect different boats for the weight ranges, a nice hull shape like the k6 would work well. what else wouldnt work jim (genuine)? hog step rigs would be fine for an unstayed rig, if a d-one can handle its kite then surely one can be made for a jib? would be interesting to see some development outside the traditional. of course you'd build it to the max loading safety factor and work backwards, you may end up with a twitchy boat under some rigs but that adds to it.
nice to dream though, and a spot of fishing never hurt anyone....

Not taking RS Quest to Dinghy Show, the boat has done quite a bit of sailing but not enough detail finalised to show yet.
Theres a new page up on our website today to coincide with the Press Release - some additional detail and photos aside from the CAD renders. Don't look too closely at little details yet Working with the Sea Cadets has been a real pleasure. RS Venture also has Symmetrical spinnaker option as well as Asy. For RS Quest an ability to fit as many areas of teaching syllabus as practical is important edit: thanks, Sea Cadets!

Their press release says Sea Cadets.
Looks like a direct competitor for the Vago to me (but not sure on the comparative sail areas). Also my experience is that a sealed mast does not help prevent inversion that much if the boat floats too high......

No, but it probably slows it a bit, allowing a bit more time to sort things out.
