Yes, but if they had enough double floor to be self draining they would probably ride much higher and you would be back to doing gymnastics to get onto the board when the boat's on its side after a capsize.

Not sure about that. Most of depth under the double floor would be close to the centre-line, so the buoyancy would not kick in until the centreboard was close to the water. Side-tanks are the killers, but cheap to incorporate with the decks, hence we see so many.

I stand (or sit) corrected.  Perchmeisterin technique galore today at WOW.  Alas still no pics.  I calculate that when the new Lightning arrives with the new scalloped sides, I might be forced to sit nearer the watery edge though, or face sliding into the cockpit.....

love this photo of a D-One sailor form the LTSC write up....

A most excellent perch-based capsize recovery technique.

Extend any part of your body over the end of the daggerboard?  No chance... that's just too uncouth!

That is interesting. What happened?

I would say Expertly Positioned Shi*box, but that would unbecoming of thread around gentlemanliness, rather let us give credit it where it's due and revise it as the Extreme Perching Sailboat.

The supreme sailing system? Are they EPS racks?

I had cause to actually dangle posterior recently, it's a damn nuisance, but when you find your downhill speed and skills keep bringing you into the lead, you get all enthusiastic about holding on to it and do all manner of perverse things going back up wind, tacking on shifts and everything..

AKA the toilet seat......I hear Twyfords and Armitage Shanks are looking to put them back in to production  Wink

When it comes to marketing own goals then Equipped with Privy Seat has to right up there.
