Get and read up to date copies of the logbooks plus Start Sailing and Better Sailing. It's also worth getting the Advanced Sailing handbook to check up on the Method for Seamanship Skills.

Rising Sun on the hard does nice food too - had lunch there last month. Also short car ride from P&B and Force 4 dinghy chandlery.

Interactivness does appear to be the key. I've been doing sailing presentations on and off for a decade now, but they still make me nervous. Much easier to a bunch of genuine learners than to a load of awkward buggers on a course, thats for sure.

I also know very little about tidal sailing, so any pointers on the important points of that most welcome!

There is a car park that is free in Warsash and a public slip too.

Many of us have done the course so if you need advice with your presentation do ask but from experience, make it practical, even tides can be interactive!

Did the 2009 Firefly nats in Hamble. Have fond memories (if vague) of the pubs. Pub crawls best done in company, so I guess it will depend upon the others on the course.

Rupert
I gave you a good pubcrawl to improve your sailing the following day!
Not relax in one pub, but take the ferry and have a wander round Hamble a lovely place with more boats than you can imagine of all sorts.
