DI course 14-18 April

   Following my investigationas a few weeks ago, I was booked into a course from 14/18 April at Plas Menai to do my pre-assessment, coastal PB2 conversion and DI. Sadly, they rang yesterday and cancelled.

As these dates are ones I have set up family for and everything, I am now trying to find a course that is actually running that week. I will be doing my pre-assessment on Sunday, so that is covered, but as I have an inland PB2, it may well have to be an inland course, unless I can sort an assessment for that beforehand, too.

Problem is, the places which have a course don't seem to be able to guarentee they are going to run. The easy one for me would be Queen Mary, but currently, I am the only taker.

So, does anyone have or know of a course set up for that week which needs an extra body, please?

	Rupert, I know a few of our guys are doing a DI course fairly soon. I think they've already done the pre-assessment. Sadly, I don't know the exact dates but you could drop an email to Gary at TRAINING@MPSC.CO.UK if that's any help? He may also be able to point you towards our local RYA rep that was trying to get people from several clubs onto a course. Drop him a line and see what he comes up with. Always welcome to stay at ours if something does suit.

	All sorted! I am now booked in with the nice people at Sport Solent Watersport Centre at Warsash, staying at Dibles caravan park nearby. Anyone know anything about the area please? Either the sailing area or the pubs?

	Rupert First Warsash SC if it is open if not a quick beer in the Rising sun then. Take the small pink ferry over the river to Hamble then try Bugle , King and Queen, and White Hart(many other pubs I cant remmeber) plus any of the many sailing clubs. Once out of the river you are into the Solent/ Southampton water rule number one the ships do not give way and are allways going faster than you think. Plus idiots in stink boats. Have a great time. 	Rupert I gave you a good pubcrawl to improve your sailing the following day! Not relax in one pub, but take the ferry and have a wander round Hamble a lovely place with more boats than you can imagine of all sorts. Gordon

	Did the 2009 Firefly nats in Hamble. Have fond memories (if vague) of the pubs. Pub crawls best done in company, so I guess it will depend upon the others on the course.
