That's very sad to think you're selling your boats because of a drop in py.

Solutions for you, one get your club to locally adjust if you feel hard done by from the national py (find out what your suggested number is first, it could be lower!), two try it as is for a season and see what happens (my guess probably not a huge change to your overall results), three sell your boat at a price lower than you should get because the py has dropped and no one wants to buy your unfairly handicapped boat, because if you want to sell due to bad py then who would want to buy it?  Honestly get a grip guys, man up and go sailing.  If you're upset by it do something proactive not just reactive.

Rant over.

If you think you have it bad look back a few pages to what the phatoms at my club could be sailing off.

Guys- give them a break, if like me they couldn't give a rats arse for their series position, don't sail regularly enough at home, then the minor variation to series results are irrelevant.

If however the change is enough ruin the odd few time they do race, taking each race as it comes, then I can understand the frustration.

Unless another solution gains traction, the only way to move forward is to take the apathy towards the series result and subsequently not give a rats arse for the individual results either... Enjoy the racing process, on the water. Leave the stats based 'competitive valuation' to those that care for it.

Investigate who you choose to be rude to first! I know what I am talking about thanks. I would not have bothered posting if it was just the normal b0>?ocks posted on here.

Hi Oli
Its not just a drop in PY its a four year slashing of PY some of which was needed.
My head is above the parapet and I will shout it if needs be. It is WRONG! Someone said sell below the market price! I have and so have others.
I genuinely was looking to buy another boat to my spec. It will not happen because it ceases to be viable. My previous results would appear to be 'down to the boat'.
I have done the Sailjuice since its inception and the previous drops to this one show that I can not sail the boat to what I believe I can achieve and what the boat is capable of. I am not the fastest , but neither am I slow.
I don't feel hard done by as all classes will and can be affected. I only know of one lower PH and that was Will Gulliver.
I don't really think I need to man up thanks.
I have been out there doing it for years and that is where my comments stem from. Not STATS.

Teehee- sorry to hear about your vibe with the boat. I know you we're passionate about the class.

It's no consolation, but the boat is still as good as you once thought it to be, what difference does some spreadsheet really make to the what you loved about sailing it before?
