My understanding is that the club has to work hard on this. Of course sometimes (particularly with Nick Craig) someone wins two nationals or more and picks which class to represent meaning the other class(es) don't get an entry. Then classes with reasonable nationals entries 30+ are written to and invited. Sometimes classes pay the entry fee if their champion wants to sail (quite a few champions decline the invite). If the early replies suggest no enterprise, no rs400, no contender etc then other classes get the call Of course I'm not a rcyc member so I don't know for sure but that's my understanding from sailing it in 07 They always aim for 25-28 entries which is what topper provide in terms of boats but results show sometimes not every entry is taken up I personally think it's a great event and if I get the chance again I'm there :)

Knowing Nick C, he will have all the settings written down and recorded for the boat, depending on wind strengths, from the last few events. While others would have been learning the boat and sorting out how to sail it, Nick would have been practising...

How do they choose which classes get invited? Anyone know?

That looks the easiest win ever. Counting straight bullets. Has that ever happened before at this event?

Not sure it is now Jimbo, but I did send a sarky txt last night. The sailracer live stream is nothing but useless, the results are all over the place. Real lying on tweets to keep updated is this really the best the dinghy sailing world has to offer?
