I just sewed on one of these

http://shop.pinbax.com/index.asp?selection=detailed&uid=34498&cg=7&mc=81&cct=4&sc=381

useful for when you just don't have enough hands.  I know Rick had some clever system in the mps which made sure you picked up the right part of the sheet too.
the same, but different...

Well things have improved with product branding... at least Allen Bros are giving you a clear indication of the area of the harness to stitch it to with a name like that.

Then on my harness I had a 5cm bit of dyneema with a plastic bobble on the end. You can pop the bowline over the bobble and the mainsheet stays with you. If you capsize a sharp tug on the line clears it from the bobble and you can swim away. Much neater than a clip I thought and much safer!

.

I think i get it, but don't suppose you still have a picture do you?  How did you stop it twisting?

No pics that I can find sadly. It never really seemed to twist for some reason. As far as picking up the right end is concerned I just sort of got on with it and pulled it, never got me in any trouble. This was on a 700 so don't see why a musto should be different.

I could try and make a rubbish paint drawing but perhaps some step by step instructions would be better...

1) Take 5cm of dyneema with bobble on one end. Tie to harness. (I liked it close to the hook but far enough away that it didnt tangle.

2) take 30cm length of dyneema. In one end tie a bowline which is just big enough to go over bobble. To big and it will fall off all the time, too small and it is hard to get on and off. At other end tie the 30cm length to a plastic ring.

3) When rigging mainsheet pass the tail through the plastic ring and tie the end to a point in the boat. I also experimented with elastic take ups but never really got it to work. Make sure mainsheet is long enough that the boom can go out with you on the wire and the sheet through the strop.

PM me for a rubbish paint drawing!

you can also do something simpler with plastic pipe or tube.  Worth going for the cheaper option until you work out if you can use them!

Not sure if it's only me, but I can't seem to open any of the pics on that link??

plastic water pipe, you don't cry when you have to cut it shorter, it's pretty robust and the ends can be rounded with a file quickly and easily, so it don't chew your lines up, easy to replace too
