Does anyone know if it is possible to buy replacement tyres for a standard trolley wheel? It seems a shame to have to buy a whole new assembly when the rim and inner tube are still in good condition.

It's infuriating, isn't it when you can't find a single replacement (cheap) component and end up having to buy a whole new unit - not very 'green' and more ££!!
If you have any large builders merchants or farm suppliers nearby, you could try there. Otherwise good old ebay could be the place i.e; I know that listing includes an innertube which you don't need right now, but it does demonstrate that they can be found at the right price. The postage does bump it up a bit though. |

The small road trailer tyres fit most trolley wheels. So you could find an old road trailer wheel that has rusted through and swap the tyre.

Amazon have tyres at £8.99 and whole wheelbarrow wheels at £9.99. At that price I would probably go for the whole wheel.

Has anyone tried filling old trolley tyres with expanding foam?

B&Q sell solid rubber wheels (green in colour) which I have on one trolley. A bit heavier than the blow up ones, but should last better.

Yes, it wasn't me, honest! But I was there to laugh at the mess. PU foam is not springy, it progressively crushes. It also sticks rubber to concrete....... |
