Unfortunatley not.

We have to get the police involved 9 times out of 10, as, even when asked politely, the one woman who CONSTANTLY breaches the bylaw won't listen to us.

She ( and she is old .... ) strips off on a bench by the side of the lake, leaves all her stuff there, and goes off swimming. Reverses the process when she gets back in.

They have just got the idea into their head though that a peice of rope will stop a dinghy, kayak or windsurfer. We can go through it, as can the windsurfers, and the canoes will go under it.

I want to see the look on a swimmers face one day, when they realise that the 300+ KG of boat coming at them with spray flying everywhere will not only not SEE them, but they wont avoid said swimmer.

Oh that would be one of lifes few precious moments. Before you get carted off for 25 years for murder of course.

peace to fellow water users, just hope don't get in the way

TT we are the swimmers at drayote mate, i'm a bit worried about the algae and the t-foil mate !!!  I understand you saw my brother at the local services today

It all adds up ...

120 ish KG of boat

2 x 65 KG people on it

Thats 250kg there, and it all soon builds up. the weight of wet clothing, bottles of water, waterlogged spinaker ... etc etc etc

( I counted people etc in with the weight of the boat ..... the weight is still all added to the momentum! )

seems these swimmers are stepping up fighting for the right to go swimming in the lake James.

Think we need to have a day where they come and see what props/centreboards can do to swimmers

why they want to swim in a lake full of goose sh*t, aswell as algae i dont know

We have one at BYC who is about 60. Everyday he cycles down to the club in his skimpiest speedos, puts on his snorkel and mask and goes for a solitary 15 minutes swim before returning, towelling himself dry and cycling home again. He doesn't speak to anyone and no-one speaks to him.

HE DOES THIS RAIN OR SHINE, WINTER OR SUMMER.

Now to be fair he doesn't interfere with the sailing and I have no problem with his actions. He is rumoured to be a past Commodore of the club but I cannot confirm this.

But this is Ballyholme. The water is cold enough to justify a drysuit at any time of year. It's frizzin at the best of times. And yet he is of slight build and never seems to feel the cold.

Its a magic skill men obtain once over 60....must come from wearing a vest all year round, even in a heatwave...
