lol harsh BNS... but true. the other thing about boats being female is they used to have all male crews and they used to call the boat she, in memory of the women at home. |

wehad a tea towel listing reasons why ships (and boats) are female, when going into port they always head for the buoys (boys), they need an experienced man at the helm, without whom they are uncontrolable.. there were others but i cant remember them all.

i always used "it" till one of the british 14 sailors looked at me in
astonish and told ,me that boats are "female". i asked him why and his
answer was: Well i dunno. itīs just like that.
