Can anyone recommend an ankle boot for Dinghy sailing with a slighty thicker sole ? I am currently limping with a bruised foot through standing on a pointed stone on the slipway for the second time in as many years
None of the boots I have tried have stopped this so far. Any recommendations ?

I agree with the Magic Marine skiffy one. They are awesome for trapezing a skiff. I also agree they are not the most suitable stuff to run in the dinghy park as they are quite thin and soft. They might be unapropriate for Hiking has they don't protect the ankle that much.

I love my Rooster ones, the short hiking ones: These are great, as are the other "Zipped boots" they do. The zipped are similar to Gill older boots they used to do. Mine have just started wearing out on the sole after 4 years (smelly yes, but still good). The Rooster ones are really comfy and also have a very good sole compared to the Slipper ones I also have (made by Gul) The Gill Trapeeze/Hiking boots are really poor quality. I had the hiking ones and sent them back as the velcro tab split meaning the boots never stayed up. If you are after grippy shoes, get the Rooster ones, top quality! |
