OK, point taken, pump is binned, so why do they persist in building it in the RS700?

No don't tell me.. The Class wont permit it's exclusion, better they all soldier on with a crap system rather than simply adopt the MPS/RS100 style system.

ER there will be no V-Twin class association.
Because with a little bimbling up front, it works reliably and allows you to steer whilst hoisting & dropping the kite.

Well does it or doesn't it?

I've got an email box full of 'don't do its' and here we have 'yes it works fine provided it's kept well serviced' (which I do do with my ropes and bits)and Jamie reckons it's cool.

So who's right?

The Canoe people, who do have a choice, use just about exclusively the pump system because they find it works better. If it doesn't work so well if poorly maintained then the remedy would seem to be obvious.

The pump system on the 700 is one of those things that's superb in theory, but as soon as the ropes or blocks get a little bit worn can quickly become a tangled nightmare with the kite stuck half up.

Why use the pump system.
I have always found it pretty pointless.
Keep it simple......
