how old do u have to be?

Yeah good point. Or just make sure you dont have accidents, my club are now doing that level 1 course for people under 16. sounds like a good idea i think.

Yeh we have to have that to drive them but didnt need it to help on rescue, and I must admit I did break the level 2 rule sometimes, mostly after sailing though.

You guys are quite lucky to have done OODing at such a young age, we were never included in things like that, im 17 and have only ever asisted once and that was at the open of the youth class i used to sail and only because it was my helm who was OODing.

I know everyone moans about having to do it, its cause they dont get to sail but also because they know how much people moan at the race officers if they get it wrong having been there and moaned themselves.

All you guys saying about the rescue that you do, do your clubs have an age restriction on helping on saftey cover.

hey stu i seem to remember us going windsurfing quite alot in the summer, i also remember you getting stuck at the bottom end of the lake. I also remember you walking back instead of surfing back. whilst you mentioned the subject windsurfing why dont you tell everyone how long it took us to get to anglesea and why considering we live in north wales. Directions anyone????

yup i did the duty first when i was eleven but now they are making me race officer instead of assistant race officer. now i see why they sent me on the course to get qualified to do the job.
