I depends on how big a modification you are thinking of. Eg. 3000 can now be bought with off the boom sheeting, gnav, much lighter, nicer sails etc.

Old dev class boats from early 90s are good candidates for mods. Other boats not really.

As for the heart fixation, I'm confused? I have one, you all have them, why not put one on a sail? And most Cherub sailors seem very much in love with their boats, so no problem there, either. It kind of ranks along with giggling every time "sexwax" is mentioned - unless 5 years old, it soon ceases to seem naughty.

Unless you're a virgin. But lets not get into childish playground insults...or have we already crossed that line?...

My father used to say that "Honi soit qui mal y pense" means "It'll never get well if you pick it". But is it not "evil is as evil does"?

By the way I have seen quite a number of Laser 2s with assy conversions in boatparks. However I have never seen one sail.

There's a certain unhealthy infatuation here and it's not the sailors. Or as the Queen might say: "Honi soit qui mal y pense".
