Technically true, but aren't the 'issues' with possible / reportedly / allegedly out-of-class boats at these winter events more about performance enhancement?

Most SI's I have come across for open events allow different numbers to be used if the RO is 'asked' via a request on the event noticeboard.. (Although this normally relates to a mid-event change of number)

Pursuit races are notoriously difficult to account for all the competitors, especially on a windward leg as competitors can be spread right across the body of the water when the gun goes. Genuine competitors get mixed up with retiring boats.
We all have probably suffered from this at some point.  I would not like to be the race officer for a pursuit race with 200 plus boats and multiple rounds of the course. You certainly need a lot of switched-on helpers plus video back-up

Well, it is aimed at one parent, not at a (possibly mythical) complete subset of sailing.

One person's pushy parent is another's caring individual, but there is certainly a difference between enquiring as to how a result can be checked on a sailing forum and shouting at race officials that little Jonny has had his Olympic dreams ruined becuase of imcompetence - that would be a pushy parent.

It is not me telling people to "poke off" ...
Plenty of "pushy parent" comments on the 420 winged rudder thread, what is special about this one?

If there is a results query all the competitor needs to do is enquire with the race organisation.

Why don't you poke off with your snotty assumptions?

Possibly, just possibly, one of the parents is stationed hundereds of miles away from his wife and kids, and thus only had a short distance to drive after seeing his family for the 1st time in weeks.  Perhaps the other parent (and the child) are still on the road going home.  What's so wrong with me trying to find out my son's result? And finding out what HE should do/ who HE should contact because of a possible mistake?
Yep, that is the typical tone of response I'd expect from a pushy parent.

You know his score, it is DNC. What you are saying is you think the score is wrong, if you believe that is the case your son needs to query it with the race officer as I helpfully pointed out in my post.

L123456, your postings look like you're being deliberately unpleasant. Please desist from such posts in future. Yes, the comment about querying with the race officer is useful, but the comment about pushy parenting is not. I'm trying to keep this forum a friendly place!

I only have the overall results as published online,  I don't have the raw data and finishing sheets,  I am sure the club will look at ASAP
