Sounds like you boys need to try a Cherub before dissing them. There's quite a big difference between "Fast" and "Quick". If you want fast, but a cat, 18, or 49er, if you want quick, buy a cherub or a 12 (depending on your weight).

I think that could be an example of a well sailed cherub vs a not so well sailed 14. TBH the new i14's, on paper, should leave the cherubs standing but if a boats not sailed well it's not going to be fast be it an 18 or an oppie. I remember when i first started sailing the 200, I raced a n12 (3111) which as it happens is the first registered baggy trousers, and it left us standing. Now we've got used to the boat, improved our sailing dramaticly and now were faster than that n12.

Very true we didnt sail it well, but still well enough to beat ALL of the cherubs!!!!  In ideal cherub conditions aswell, we didnt do bad considering we had only sailed it twice before and anyone that knows about 14's knows the morrison 12 isnt an easy boat to sail!!

Without trying to sound sarcastic.... how do ideal cherub conditions differ from ideal 14 conditions?
