I'm trying to identify the make of a boat from the following description:

41 foot.
3000KG torpedo bulb on the bottom of an 8 foot fin keel.
Symmetric and Asymmetric spinnakers.
Bowsprit.
Non overlapping sales.
IRC optimised.
Good in heavy airs.
Designed by one of the world's best yacht designers.

So far I've been told it's NOT a J boat, an X boat, a Benneteau or a Farr.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

James.

By bowsprit, do you mean proper bowsprit for assys, or a stump for a zero?

Summit 40? Or a Mills one-off - maybe one of the 43s? (2ft over I know, but...)

I'm afraid she's white.

Our owner has just bought a new boat but he's keeping the make secret until she's delivered.  There are beers to be won by the first person to identify her.

Bowsprit for an asymmetric.

Summit 40 matches perfectly and I've found this on Ancasta => http://www.ancasta.com/archived_boat_details/?BoatId=24876

Apart from the price which looks way over budget, everything else matches.

Thanks.

James.

Asking price =/= price accepted. Especially in a buyers' market.

Apparently it's not a Summit 40.

Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

The latest is the skipper is being cagey with his wording - "you can fit a bowsprit to any boat".

So, we are looking for a heavily rated IRC boat, 41 foot long with a 3000KG torpedo on an 8 foot fin keel, non overlapping sails and adapted to use a bowsprit and asymmetrics.  He also described it as the "world's most successful designer's take on irc".

After all this trouble it really better be something special!
