no he should be ok in the strong stuff but a bit difficult in the light stuff. i am crew and i weigh about14stone and we still move quite a bit and we can hold it very happily in a force 5/6. Also when the winds down (about force4) you can sail them singhlehanded on the wire with a larger extension. They are great fun.

why not try a buzz one trap and fairly fast but u might be too heave for it, i was going to suggest you buy a penultimate 14 their fast and amazingly cheep, but if your on restricted water it could be risky!

Fireball would be ok - Just. The problem is that you are really 5 st too heavy to helm one competatively - better to swap positions with your crew. Same applies to all trapeze boats (obvious really - put the weight where its most effective). If thats not on you'll be ok for club racing but maybe you should consider something like an RS400 where your weight can be used as well as the crews. Again, best if there is a fleet of them to race with. |
