There doesn't seem to be a suitable place for this post,
so sorry if it's in the wrong place.

Basically, I'm moving to Leeds in October. I sail a Laser
4k, and looking for:
a) somewhere suitable to sail it
b) a crew.

The only place I've been able to come up with so far is
the Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club, although it's a fair
distance from Leeds. I wouldn't mind too much traveling
to the coast if that is my best option.

Any ideas?

Use the Y&Y club search facility with a handy map.

Geographically, the nearest ones to Leeds (in no particular order) are;

Denholme SC, Yeadon SC, Otley SC, West Riding SC,

and Scammonden Water SC (Nr Huddersfield).

If you can find the Club links / news articles or websites, that may give you an idea of the facilities and types of boats sailed. I'm afraid I have never sailed at any of the aformentioned, so can only leave recommendations, or alternative suggestions to others. Depends whether or not you are looking for other 4k's to race against, or what else matters to you? I would guess Scammonden would be an easy trip from Leeds South West if weekend sailing, but don't know whether the motorway link v rush hour, might be an issue if you wanted to sail weekday evenings. I guess your hint at 'wouldn't mind travelling to the coast' suggests more of a weekend sailing?

Thanks for the suggestions. I know West Kirby reasonably
well having graduated from Newcastle last summer and sailed
there as part of the Halloween Howler. I would sign up with
them quickly, I've always liked the club, but it's far too
small for a L4k.

Denholme and Scammonden look interesting. Will have to have
a reccy at some point.

Do you get occasional tin bath crewed by octogenarians as well?
