Is it worth having a combi road trailer if I'm not planning on taking the boat
out of the sailing club park? My experience is that they're a pain to drag the launching trolley on and off of, and I've nowhere at home to keep one. |

Unless the supplier is doing a boat show deal and throwing the combi and cover in for the usual price i wouldn't bother. You can always buy a roadbase later if you find you need it.

Waht boat do you have because if it is a reasonable small one (laser sized) they can be moved on the car roof anyway if you do need to move it somewhere. Unless you are thinking about moving it around a lot of there is a deal i would say no dont get a trailer. if you do need to take it to a builder or somethign you could probably borrow one anyway. |

Were you referring to resale value? If so then that is a different matter. Most people probably wouldn't buy a second hand boat without a trailer unless it was something that could be car-topped very easily. Otherwise it's a no-brainer, if you don't need one don't buy one! |

Don't bother they are a pain in the arse unless you need one. I've always been able to borrow one for the occasional trip.

I take the wheels off mine to stop them getting nicked. It's quite easy to park the boat on top of it as well as it sits lower.
