Helensburgh Sailing Club would be more than happy to host and assist , our club is used by many youth sailors throughout scotland and is a popular venue for visiting youth class training , Toppers , Oppies , 420's ,

If manufacturers were planning to do a tour with youth boats I'm sure we could pull in a substantial number of youth sailors eager to try out ,

we could also cater for the older than youths too with our own existing member owned cats from Darts to Tornados

just let us know .

I put a reply on the 'way forward' thread, but I'll reply here too.

Why not try taking some boats to a 'feeder class' event, such as an optimist or topper open? You will reach a far wider audience.

The limitation in holding a cat open day at a 'cat club' is that you will be, in the main, evangelising to people who are already aware of cat sailing.

And I totally agree with your views on the other thread about feeder classes. And I look forward to trying to arrange one of these days.

However hosting an event at what you say is a 'cat club' is that there a sailors you are alraedy cat sailors eho could pass on their enthusiasm and that the variety of boats will be there for all to see. At no time would I envisage this just being restricted to 'Cat Clubs'. My question was for clubs NOT just 'Cat Clubs'
