Yes, I have sailed a spice. Probably about 4 times in total but enough for me to form an opinion on it. I had fun but it has some quite serious flaws. I wish that someone would take the concept and create a new design.

I wish someone would get the 5000 mould and make one that doesn't weigh 110 kilos! If Laser did what Vander craft did for the laser 3000 and sold it for around £8000, I think that class would take off with enough marketing. The 3000 wasn't very successful in comparison to the 5000, so I think the 5000 is the ideal candidate for modernising/updating. Laser need an RS800 in there range.

think i will defo want a go in the 600

and i should be fine in any breeze as long as there is pro grip on the racks...


Ross craigs 5 tonner only ventures out about once a month now... but i think hes busy sailing a 4 tonner atm

Atum bom is at home right now becasue they jsut got back from Carnac and they at Brightlingsea in two weeks. I somehow doubt oops will win unless the breeze is well and truely up. Plus oops dosn't go upwind that quickly

There is pro-grip on the although it needs replacing  I may have to steal a go in the spice while my 600 is being used

You'd also need to change the hull shape, the spars and the sails...
