Nope, The UK came into the Common market late and grundgingly... Look it up! That's history as well, you know! And that's the reason why history is so fascinating: it has knock-on effects on our lives. It also helps to put ourselves in perspective: we're just transient, after all.

My memory may be fading on this one, but if I remember rightly an earlier attempt by the UK to be included in the Common Market was strenuously resisted by a certain General de Gaulle......or it may all have been a childhood dream of course.....
