I'm sorry to come as a pain in the A SE, but the Olympic bid for Paris was backed up by many more people than just the French President. As much effort went into the Paris bid as there was in the London bid. I can understand that you're trying to settle a score with the French (as a whole nation) but could you restrain your enthusiasm, please...

I know the vast majority of the good British public can't resist a good spell of Francobashing, but guys, please.... raise above that

Didn't realise lino was that popular in France.

BUt totally agree with BNS - lets keep this positive - it is fantastic news that the London bid was successful.  Time to book the campsite in Weymouth ready for the sailing...it might even tempt me back to the UK to go and watch!

As for the campsite, I know a very nice place near Weymouth, with swimming-pool and a good bar .

A couple of days ago (before the announcement), the local news featured a hotel in Weymouth that was already contacted for a booking in 2012! That's what I call well-prepared

poor old lady!
hope here are no french males but i don´t like the french guys. they seem to believ they´re the most charming people ever and they can every girl, no matter how unsexy they´re. that´s my experience with non sailors. french sailors are quite nice actually.
